Recipe description

Highly comforting cookies ahead! These little wonders with dark chocolate chunks are crispy and chewy just the way we like them: slightly crunchy on the edges, melt-in-the-mouth in the centre.

Kaoka chocolate chunks are so generous that you’ll have chocolate in every bite.

And the best part? The recipe is super easy to make.

On the other hand, here’s a tip: plan to bake two batches from the outset. These cookies have a knack for disappearing at lightning speed… especially if you have foodies around. You’ve been warned!

Ingredients

  • 230g flour
  • 50g cornflour
  • ½ teaspoon of baking soda
  • 175g softened butter
  • 80g brown sugar or rapadura
  • 80g light brown sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 300g of 60% dark chocolate chunks from Kaoka

Tip

This recipe is a reliable base, but feel free to adapt it according to the season and your current preferences. Add a few roasted hazelnut pieces, pecans, a pinch of fleur de sel or even some finely grated orange zest…

Preparation

  1. Cream the softened butter with the sugars. Add the egg. Mix well.
  2. Add the flour, cornflour, bicarbonate of soda and pinch of salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the chocolate chunks to the dough.
  4. Form a roll of dough. Set aside for 1 hour in the refrigerator or 20 minutes in the freezer.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  6. Cut the cookie dough roll into 1 cm thick slices. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes, adjusting the time according to your oven.
